Clamp bands are used to secure connections of hoses and flexible pipes. These are steel bands that are mounted and removed using special pliers. The clamp is tightened by crimping the protruding ear of the clamp, thereby reducing its diameter. The clamp should be selected according to the diameter of the connection, as its adjustment usually does not exceed a few millimetres. Clamps ensure the tightness of secured connections. Flexible hoses soften and expand under the influence of temperature, which can cause leaks, for example, in a heated engine cooling system, leading to coolant leakage and engine overheating. Similarly, even a properly secured connection can leak if the clamp securing it is corroded. Corrosion causes weakening and breaking of clamps. Application: for joints and rubber connectors.
