K2 GLASS DOCTOR – Windshield Repair Kit
K2 GLASS DOCTOR is a windshield repair kit. It was created to easily fill in point cracks or spider-like damage on the windshield.
With K2 GLASS DOCTOR, you can eliminate the problem of a chip on the windshield caused by a stone hit. The resin included in the kit fills the chips on the windshield, and then, after exposure to sunlight, hardens to leave a completely transparent form.
Using the K2 GLASS DOCTOR kit masks the chip on the windshield, making it invisible and not obstructive while driving. It also prevents the chip from expanding.
Thanks to the K2 GLASS DOCTOR repair kit, you don't have to worry that a chip on the windshield will prevent your car from passing a technical inspection or require the replacement of the entire windshield.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
- Clean any loose glass particles from the chip (hole in the crack caused by impact) using a pin. Also clean the entire area around the diameter of the damage.
- Apply the adhesive seal to the windshield at the chip location. To do this, peel off the protective film from one side of the seal. Apply the seal so that the chip is in the centre of the hole, with the tab facing upwards. Press the seal firmly onto the windshield.
- Remove the protective film from the top part of the seal.
- Mount the base on the seal so that the tabs overlap. Ensure it is firmly pressed against the seal.
- Pour the contents of the resin tube into the base through the top hole. Leave some resin for the penultimate repair step. Wipe off excess resin and close the resin container.
- Insert the syringe with the plunger fully depressed into the top hole. Ensure it is well positioned.
- Extract air from the base by holding the syringe cylinder with one hand and lifting the syringe plunger with the other. Lock the plunger by snapping the first notch on the spring clip. Release and leave the syringe for 10 minutes to extract all the air.
- Remove the syringe and draw air into it. Reinsert the syringe and check it is tightly positioned.
- Press the syringe plunger and lock it on the second notch, securing the plunger with a rotational movement on the spring clip. Leave the locked syringe for 20 minutes. After this, remove the syringe.
- Using a razor blade, cut the edge of the base and peel the entire assembly from the windshield. Remove excess dripping resin from the windshield.
- Apply one or several drops of resin again to the chip location and attach a transparent curing film, pressing out any air bubbles underneath.
- Expose the windshield with the applied K2 Glass Doctor to sunlight for at least 15 minutes to cure the resin. Once the resin is cured, gently scrape off the curing film and excess resin with a razor blade.
The kit includes:
- syringe;
- tube with filling agent;
- razor blade;
- base with funnel;
- adhesive seal;
- self-curing film sheet;
- pin for cleaning the crack area.
NOTES:
- Do not use in direct sunlight.
- Do not apply to a heated windshield. Apply in a shaded area.
- A razor blade included in the kit is necessary to remove adhesive residue.
- Avoid contact of the resin with painted surfaces.
