Primer epoxy anti-corrosion 1l
Index: MF 4786
Primer epoxy anti-corrosion, transparent, 1L, with hardener, proportions: 10:1, application (for the surface): car body, directly on rust, undercarriage
Description
2-component epoxy primer designed for quick car repairs. Provides excellent protection of steel surfaces against corrosion.
Advantages
- Very high adhesion to various types of substrates.
- Very good anti-corrosion protection.
- Can be applied directly to steel elements.
- Easy mixing and application process.
Substrates
- The epoxy primer can be applied to:
- Steel and aluminium after matting and degreasing.
- Galvanised, electroplated steel after matting and degreasing.
- Sanded polyester-glass (GFK/GRP) and epoxy-glass laminates.
- Polyester and epoxy fillers.
- Old coatings in good condition after matting and degreasing.
- Good surface preparation is necessary to achieve the best repair results.
- manually (dry or wet): P280÷P320 (GRP P400),
- mechanically (dry): P180÷P220.
For car repairs.
- Mixing ratio by volume
By weight
Primer: 10
Hardener: 1
Thinner: 20÷30%
By volume
Primer: 10
Hardener: 1.5
Thinner: 20÷30%
Mix thoroughly until a uniform consistency is achieved.
- Spray viscosity
30÷50 seconds at 20°C
- Pot life
approximately 1.5 hours at 20°C
- Number of layers
2÷3 layers.
Parameters for RP gun
Nozzle: 1.6÷2.0 mm; Inlet pressure: 2.0÷2.2 bar.
Parameters for HVLP gun
Nozzle: 1.5÷1.9 mm; Inlet pressure: 2.0 bar.
- Flash-off time
Between layers: approximately 10 min
Before baking: approximately 15 min
Flash-off time depends on temperature and layer thickness.
- Curing time
approximately 8 hours at 20°C (depending on coating thickness).
approximately 45 minutes at 60°C (depending on coating thickness).
Temperature below 20°C significantly extends curing time.
- IR drying
10÷15 minutes of short waves for thickness 150÷200 µm.
Do not exceed a temperature of 60°C.
Use according to the equipment manufacturer's recommendations.
Wait approximately 10 minutes before starting IR drying.
- Dry sanding
Machine sanding: P360÷P500.
Hand sanding: P280÷P320.
- Wet sanding
Machine sanding: P600÷P1000.
Hand sanding: P800÷P1000.
- Further work
On 2-component epoxy primers, you can directly apply:
- 2-component topcoats.
- 1-component basecoats.
- 2-component acrylic primers.
- 2-component polyester fillers.
- 2-component epoxy fillers.
- General notes
- Do not exceed the recommended amounts of hardener!
- Best results are achieved when painting at room temperature. The ambient temperature and the temperature of the applied product should be similar.
- When working with 2-component products, it is recommended to use personal protective equipment. Protect eyes and respiratory system.
- Rooms should be well ventilated.
- Tools should be cleaned immediately after application.
Note: For safety, always follow the instructions in the product's MSDS sheet
