Battery charger EXPERT CHARGER 5 6/12V 5A EXCHARGE5
Index: EXCHARGE5
Battery charger EXPERT CHARGER 5, charging voltage: 6/12 V, charging current: 5A, power supply: 230V, battery type: AGM/CaL/GEL/LiFePO4/MF/WET
Technical Specifications
EXPERT CHARGER 5 is a multifunctional electronic charger for charging in 6V or 12V mode batteries:
- WET (liquid - acid)
- GEL (gel)
- MF (maintenance-free)
- AGM (with fibreglass mat)
- CAL (calcium)
- EFB (for vehicles with Start-Stop system)
- LFP (lithium iron phosphate)
Microprocessor control system ensures automatic charging process. Once the required voltage is reached on the battery, it switches to maintenance status and automatically resumes charging when the battery voltage drops.

EXPERT CHARGER 5 has 4 charging modes :
- STD – acid liquid batteries WET and MF (additional winter mode)
- AGM – batteries AGM, EFB (additional winter mode)
- GEL – gel batteries
- LiFePO4 – lithium iron phosphate batteries (LFP)
The device is additionally adapted for charging motorboat batteries (type MARINE).
Charging Process
7-step charging process ensures optimal charging conditions for the battery. The automatic control system adjusts each of the 7 charging stages for correct battery charging:
- STAGE 1 - Diagnostic (Diagnostics) analyses the battery and checks if it can accept charging current; prevents charging of a damaged battery
- STAGE 2 - Recovery charge (Pre-charge) – batteries with low voltage are pre-charged with a small current but increased voltage; very discharged batteries can be restored to usability and this ensures longer battery life, the stage is skipped if the battery is minimally discharged and in good condition.
- STAGE 3 - Soft start (Soft start) – the charger gradually increases the charging current to reach the set charging current
- STAGE 4 - Bulk charge – charging with a constant current value to a previously set voltage (14.4÷14.7V)
- STAGE 5 - Absorption charge – after reaching the required battery charge level, it switches to constant voltage charging (CV) and the charging process ends
- STAGE 6 - Evaluation diagnostic - automatic monitoring of battery voltage after charging is completed
- STAGE 7 - Maintenance charge – maintenance stage for the battery (float) and monitoring its condition; resumes charging with reduced current if necessary.
Physical Specifications
The device is equipped with protection: thermal, against spark formation on the terminal clamps, against short circuit of poles, overload and reverse polarity.
Charging cables are 2m long.
Power Specifications
Single-phase power supply 230V.
Power cables are 1.5m long.
The device is equipped with a power plug.
